One thing that I fail to understand here is why females and males are treated unequitably.
Some would argue that it is because women tend to have very pronounced breasts... but by this reasoning would it be acceptable for flat-chested women to go around topless?
Furthermore... what about men? Why is it that they, whether with or without pronounced busoms, are considered perfectly acceptable without any kind of covering?
Is this not a matter of two weights and two measures? While I understand that the culture is deeply entrenched, would it still not be an idea to either require men to wear some kind of top in public or else revoke the compulsion of women to wear bottoms (again, presuming that the reason why men are compelled to wear briefs or boxers is purely due to the provocative projection of the male anatomy - absent in women)?
This is a very noble campaign. Lets keep malta clean and covered

Thank you for tieing your question in with the topic. I think that I now understand.
Still... are we to understand that the act of breast-feeding is a cause for concern?
Let us presume for a moment that there is actually something intrinsically offensive about breast-feeding in public. Is it not true that the majority of public establishments are simply inadequately equipped in terms of changing rooms and the sort? Is it not true that such areas are sometimes inadequately maintained and are therefore potentially a health hazard for both mother and child?
It seems to me that it is a cold society that seeks to drive something as natural as breast-feeding out of sight of society. Sure the mother isn't always a star-class model but surely provisions for mothers ought to be made. As things stand the practice of breast-feeding is more the exception than the rule partially thanks to the backward mentality that society has been programmed as regards to the presumed offensiveness of the woman concerned.
Furthermore it is not like the male body has anything up there that a woman does not - although perhaps not competing in terms of volume.
I would suggest that any campaign to compel women to cover up on top ought to count towards the men also. The alternative, of course, is to go lax on women in light of the general lack of inhibitions on the part of the male in this regard. It seems only fair. ^_^

Well done! Keep up the good work. Just keep on believing that in 2007 young people who bathe topless at the beach really give a crap about religion and values. Its a lost cause and theres no way this campaign can be successful. I'm an active catholic myself ... but actually I don't really think that all that Ezekiel stuff that's posted in your website at the very top of each page is very relevant either.

Religion is a system of laws that make up a rigid belief system. While the Religion that you allude to is not a stranger to questions of ethics it is not ethics itself. It also has to be said that not all values are equal (compare the 10 commandments to understand what I mean).
This is not to say that the Catholic religion ought to be ignored... but neither ought it to get accepted blindly, especially in the face of "values" that are not even directly contradicted in these same commandments. If anything (as per the story) it was only when Adam and Eve sought to cover themselves that they were deemed in sin - not for covering up but for disobeying the word of He who must be obeyed.
Furthermore it is a documented fact that the last Ice Age was approximately 6,000 years ago. This suggests that the climate 2,000-4,000 years ago was almost certainly cooler than it is today. We also happen to be around the peek it not on the return-slope of the cycle, which is why we hear conflicting reports about the dangers of global warming and cooling.
My point is that humans originally covered up not out of any wish to not live in sin but out of necessity. Clothing is but a personal-scale element of shelter - it helps to keep us warm. When on jumps ahead to 2007 when pressure groups are telling people to stay covered for artificially constructed moral reasons, it all starts to seem a little silly.
After all... we are effectively saying that the human body is beautiful... but its a sin to show it off. The forbidden apple still appears to run within our blood... ~_~
